Logo Design
Branding
Kovri is a lightweight, security-focused network router, currently based on the Invisible Internet Project (I2P) open specifications. Kovri uses both garlic encryption and garlic routing to create a private, protected overlay-network across the internet. This overlay-network provides users with the ability to effectively hide their geographical location and internet IP address.
The I2P network utilizes a form of routing called ‘garlic routing’, which is itself similar to ‘onion routing’ of used in the Tor network. The garlic imagery was used as the base for the initial logo, and we wanted to preserve that as part of the new concept. At the same time, we felt a garlic alone was not enough to clearly showcase everything Kovri is trying to accomplish. The end result is a logo that merges common imagery of known technologies such as WiFi and routers with the garlic scheme used in the previous Kovri designs.
